Communities across North Dublin are preparing for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, with parades planned in Malahide, Swords, and Raheny on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026.
Parade Details
The Malahide parade will begin at 2:00 PM, starting from the Cricket Club and proceeding over the railway bridge, along Main Street, The Mall, and Coast Road, finishing at the Grand Hotel. The Swords parade is scheduled for 11:00 AM, beginning at Colasite Choilm, Dublin Road, and concluding at Swords Castle Town Park. In Raheny, the parade is expected to start at 1:00 PM and finish no later than 2:30 PM.
Raheny Preparations
Organisers anticipate approximately 1400 participants in the Raheny parade, representing 60 Sports Clubs, Active Age groups, and other community organizations. Approximately 100 stewards from Raheny Shamrocks & Raheny GAA will assist with marshalling the event, alongside Gardaí positioned along the route.
Road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect in all three locations to facilitate the parades. Residents along the Raheny parade route have been informed of the arrangements. No parking cones will be placed on both sides of Main Street Raheny, Watermill Road, Watermill Drive, All Saints Park, and All Saints Drive starting at 8:00 PM on March 16th, 2026.
Patrons attending the Raheny parade are encouraged to use public transport. Parking will be available at St Anne’s Park, All Saints Estate, and around Raheny Village. The taxi rank on Howth Road will be closed, with accommodations made for taxis in the Windsor Motors carpark. Organisers have ordered 150 barriers from Event Serve to manage pedestrian and traffic flow.
