Franklin & Marshall Track & Field Shines at Little 3 Meet

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall College men’s track & field team delivered a strong performance at the Little 3 Meet this weekend, securing six individual event titles against Gettysburg and Dickinson College. Although Dickinson ultimately claimed the team victory with 147 points, narrowly defeating Gettysburg (144 points), F&M’s 105 points showcased the team’s growing strength and potential.

Diplomats Dominate Field Events

A significant portion of F&M’s success came in the field events, where they captured four of the six titles. Kenny Uchida led the way with a winning leap of 6.29 meters in the long jump. Austin Hadley took first in the discus with a throw of 44.02 meters and Dustin Stoetzel secured victory in the javelin, reaching 53.69 meters.

Olener’s Double Victory and Houff’s Track Triumph

Alex Olener proved to be a standout performer, winning both the 110-meter hurdles (17.45 seconds) and the triple jump (11.75 meters). On the track, Zach Houff continued his impressive form, winning the 1,500 meters in 4:06.82, building on his recent NCAA Championship debut during the indoor season.

Throwing Events Showcase Depth

The Diplomats demonstrated considerable depth in the throwing events, claiming 10 of the top five finishes across the shot put, discus, hammer, and javelin. Hadley also secured second place in the shot put (13.41m), while Stoetzel added a third-place finish in the hammer throw (41.74m). Ben Ostroski and Benjamin Ford also contributed with strong performances in both the discus and shot put.

Versatility and Relay Performances

Greg Bruno showcased his versatility, achieving top-three finishes in the triple jump, high jump, and long jump. Justin Harrison secured a third-place finish in the 200 meters (23.96 seconds), and both the 4×400 and 4×800 relay teams finished fourth.

The F&M men’s track & field team will use a week off to prepare for a busy stretch of competition, including the Messiah Invitational (April 9-11) and the Bucknell Invitational (April 11).
