Frasers Property Singapore will undergo a leadership transition on Oct. 1, 2026, as current CEO Soon Su Lin steps down to transition into a group advisory role. The company has appointed Tan Wee Hsien, from CapitaLand Development, as CEO designate, effective Sep. 8 this year, to oversee the group’s retail, residential, and commercial portfolio.
Leadership Succession at Frasers Property Singapore
Soon Su Lin, who has led Frasers Property’s Singapore operations since 2022, will conclude her tenure as CEO in October 2026. According to a bourse filing released by Frasers Property Ltd on Friday (Jul 3), Soon will move into a group advisory position to support group CEO Panote Sirivadhanabhakdi. Despite stepping back from daily operations, she will retain board seats at One Bangkok Co and Frasers Centrepoint Asset Management.

Soon’s career with the group spans over nine years, including a previous stint as CEO of development for Frasers Property in Thailand. Before joining the organization in 2017, she served as CEO of Orchard Turn Developments, the entity behind the Ion Orchard retail mall, and held an executive director role at CBRE.
The incoming CEO, Tan Wee Hsien, brings three decades of experience in Asia-Pacific real estate. He currently serves as the CEO for Vietnam and International at CapitaLand Development.
Strategic Shifts Amid Portfolio Revamp
The management change follows a period of structural adjustment for the property group. Just one week prior to the announcement, Frasers Property disclosed a S$2.1 billion restructuring of its Frasers Hospitality Trust portfolio. The trust was privatized last year, signaling a broader effort to streamline assets and operations.
Tan Wee Hsien is expected to manage the strategic direction, investments, and development of the group’s diverse Singapore assets. His background includes leadership roles at MCL Land and Hongkong Land, where he served as director and head of development property in South Asia. He is a graduate of the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in estate management and currently holds board directorships across more than 50 entities.
Market Outlook and Future Trends
Real estate observers are watching how the new leadership will navigate the intersection of commercial and mixed-use developments in a shifting interest rate environment. Following the announcement, shares of Frasers Property closed at S$1.07 on Thursday, reflecting a 0.9 per cent increase, or S$0.01.

The transition highlights a trend of consolidation within Singapore’s major property players. By bringing in external leadership with extensive regional experience, Frasers Property appears to be positioning itself for long-term growth in the competitive Asia-Pacific market. Investors will likely look for updates on capital allocation strategies as the company continues to refine its hospitality and retail holdings.
