The severe heat warning took effect Tuesday morning following localized alerts. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, temperatures in Seoul reached 33 degrees Celsius by 10:44 a.m., while specific districts like Gangnam and Geumcheon recorded even higher readings at 34.7 degrees Celsius. Prior advisories restricted to the southeastern and southwestern parts of Seoul have now expanded citywide, placing the capital under a severe heat alert status.
Beyond the capital, the Korea Meteorological Administration extended severe heat warnings to several surrounding regions. Affected areas include Osan, Hanam, western and southeastern Yeoju, Goyang, and Anseong in Gyeonggi Province, alongside Jeonju in North Jeolla Province and Changseong County in South Jeolla Province.
