An Garda Síochána are appealing for witnesses following a serious two-car road traffic collision on the R406 at Barberstown, Straffan, County Kildare, that occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. this afternoon. Three occupants from one vehicle and the driver of a second vehicle were transported to hospital for treatment following the crash.

Investigating authorities have urged any person who witnessed the collision on the R406 to come forward with information. According to Gardaí, the appeal specifically targets road users who were travelling through the Barberstown area between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. today. Investigators have requested that anyone with dashcam footage from the incident or the surrounding area make those recordings available to help establish the sequence of events. Hospital Transports and Patient Status Following the Straffan Collision
The collision involved two vehicles, resulting in injuries requiring immediate hospital transport for four people. According to Gardaí, three occupants traveling in the first car were taken for medical care: a male and a female, both in their late teens, were brought to Tallaght University Hospital, while the male driver, aged in his 20s, was taken to Connolly Hospital. The driver of the second car, a woman in her 50s, was also transported to Tallaght University Hospital.
