Kampung Bahari Drug Lord Arrested at Beauty Salon

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) arrested a gembong narkoba known as MR, or “Bos Gendut,” at a beauty salon in Mangga Besar, West Jakarta, on Wednesday night (12/8). Following the arrest, BNN and the Jakarta Metro Police conducted a raid in Kampung Bahari on Thursday morning, resulting in the seizure of narcotics, cash, and various weapons, according to BNN Director of Investigation and Pursuit, Brigadier General Roy Hardy Siahaan.

Arrest and Asset Seizure

Authorities apprehended MR after tracking his movements from Kampung Bahari to Mangga Besar. According to Brigjen Roy Hardy Siahaan, MR was a fugitive linked to a drug case dating back to November 7, 2025. During the investigation, BNN identified significant assets tied to the suspect, including Rp1,277 billion in cash and additional assets valued at approximately Rp39,950 billion. The agency is currently investigating these holdings as part of a money laundering (TPPU) case, as reported by BNN.

Operational Confrontation in Kampung Bahari

Following information provided by MR during his examination, BNN and Polda Metro Jaya launched a raid in Kampung Bahari on Thursday morning (13/8). During the operation, officials faced resistance from individuals described as loyalists to the suspect. Brigjen Roy Hardy Siahaan confirmed that one police officer sustained an injury near the eye during the confrontation. Despite the resistance, authorities successfully detained two individuals, including a suspect identified as “Bos G,” who had been previously targeted by investigators.

Evidence Collected

The joint operation yielded a variety of items linked to the network. Seized evidence includes marijuana—specifically identified as “gorilla” type—along with firearms, samurai swords, ammunition, mobile phones, and vehicles. While the total weight of the narcotics is still being processed as items remain in their original packaging, the recovery of gold bars and financial assets remains a primary focus of the ongoing investigation, according to reports from Tribunnews.com.
