Murray acknowledged the challenges and benefits of managing multiple rising talents. “It’s a great problem to have with two young guys coming in to play in Ontario, but it’s a great opportunity for both of them,” Murray said. Slukynsky is projected to arrive at the NHL level next season.

Carter George got the attention of the Kings at training camp last season, securing a quick glimpse of the NHL with two games in March. The 23-year-old netminder went on to shoulder a heavy workload with Ontario during the 2025-26 campaign, appearing in 65 games while also skating on the first penalty kill and power-play units.
Measuring 6-1 and 199, George has steadily outperformed his collegiate expectations since transitioning to the professional ranks. “He was a very good college player,” Murray said of George. “He had an unbelievable offseason last year and he came in and he really opened everyone’s eyes. Our coach (in Ontario, Andrew Lord) really leaned on him and his game has transitioned. He’s a better pro than he was a college player.”
With his extensive AHL experience and strong organizational backing, George carries a projected NHL arrival timeline for this season.

Selected with the No. 59 pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, the 19-year-old forward Adam Cihar has emerged as a high-upside forward prospect for Los Angeles. Cihar earned tournament MVP honors at the 2026 WJC by accumulating 12 points via four goals and eight assists across seven appearances, guiding Czechia to the championship match where they ultimately fell to Sweden.
During the 2025-26 season with Kelowna, Cihar recorded 31 GP, 12-19-31. Standing 6-0 and 175, the versatile forward draws praise for his vision and adaptability on the ice.
“He’s only been to one training camp, so once he comes this year to the rookie tournament, kind of understands pro game, I think the ceiling is really high with this guy,” Murray explained. “We have to be patient with him. We’re not saying he’s going to be able to make it this year. He’ll go back to junior if that’s the case, if that’s what Kenny (Holland, Kings general manager) and our staff think would be best for him. He sees the ice, he can play center, he can play wing. Really, his hockey sense is excellent.”
