Civic Leaders Welcome Thousands of Young Pilgrims

Pražák noted that the event provides a vital space for teenagers seeking foundational values amid contemporary family crises.

The extensive program features direct meetings with bishops, academic lectures, concerts, theatrical performances, sports activities, and creative workshops. On Saturday, August 15, the schedule includes a dedicated Family Day for parents and children. Additionally, local residents can attend Holy Mass daily without prior registration, while Czech diocesan bishops visited the New City Hall to tour the tower and municipal assembly hall.

Parallel Papal Message Emphasizes True Human Connection

Referencing Psalm 122:1 (“Mēs iesim uz Kunga namu”), the Pontiff warned participants against isolating themselves in an increasingly digital world driven by artificial intelligence.

“Atreasure to remember: no algorithm can ever replace an embrace, a sincere glance, a true encounter,” Pope Leo XIV stated, according to Katedrāle.lv. The Pope encouraged attendees to seek genuine human connections, follow the example of the Virgin Mary, and remain open to vocations to the priesthood or consecrated life without fear.
