“It has been incredible. I have had amazing support from all of Cork,” Linnane told The Echo this week, adding, “For Cork to have my back the whole way and be part of my journey, it has just been amazing. I am really looking forward to the next week.”
Beyond her studies and performances on stages across Europe, Linnane has actively fundraised and raised awareness for Cork Stroke Support (CSS). The charity holds deep personal significance for her following the sudden passing of her mother, Tracey, from a stroke in 2023 at the age of 37. Looking ahead, Linnane stated her long-term ambition is to open her own stage school to foster creativity and confidence in young performers.
Rose Anna Clancy Represents Perth From Glanworth Roots
Representing the international diaspora, Perth Rose Anna Clancy brings a Leeside connection to the stage from her home base in Australia. Originally from Glanworth, Clancy studied medicine at University College Cork and worked as a doctor in Galway before making the move abroad.
“I am absolutely honoured to be selected and to come over to Ireland as an ambassador for Perth,” Clancy said regarding her selection. Describing her life overseas, she noted that the Irish community has made the region feel like home, praising the local work-life balance.
“I’ve always loved watching the Rose of Tralee and I am absolutely honoured to be part of such a special festival,” Clancy added. The live television broadcasts are scheduled for Monday, August 17, and Tuesday, August 18, starting at 8 PM on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
