NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida will host the “Max Power” public air and space expo on November 7 and 8, marking only the fourth time in history that the space agency has hosted a public air show on its property, according to a Friday announcement by NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman. The two-day ticketed event at Space Florida’s Launch and Landing Facility will showcase current and historical aerospace technology, military aerial demonstrations, and NASA flight hardware.
Max Power Event Overview and Three-Tiered Ticket Structure
Max Power is organized as a collaborative effort between NASA, Air Dot Show, UP.Summit, Delaware North, and Purpose Entertainment, according to the agency’s announcement. The event splits into three separately ticketed areas connected by courtesy buses for attendees. The schedule includes dynamic flight demonstrations from multiple branches of the military, NASA aircraft, and an aerobatic formation performance by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.
The expo grounds will display technology demonstrations, commercial aviation hardware, next-generation air mobility vehicles, and historical NASA aircraft. A dedicated speaker series will feature past and current astronauts from the agency’s moon landing programs. Current astronauts Raja Chari and Deniz Burnham participated in the Friday announcement event, seated in a two-seat NASA T-38 jet that served as a backdrop for the podium.

“The American people have invested in NASA programs and waited patiently to see the world-changing missions like Artemis II. They deserve to know, see what we are building and showcase the aerospace capabilities the talent of NASA has helped pioneer. That’s why it is my great privilege to announce today Max Power,” said NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman during his remarks at the Launch and Landing Facility.
Isaacman, a commercial astronaut, billionaire entrepreneur, and jet pilot who owns a fleet of F-5 aircraft, stated that he intends to fly in the air show himself. According to the administrator, the event will feature space hardware, Department of Defense aircraft, interactive mission simulators, moon rovers, and appearances by Apollo and Artemis astronauts. Isaacman noted that the weekend may also feature a rocket launch.
Schedule Coordination With Artemis Milestones
Administrator Isaacman stated that the Max Power air show will not interfere with rolling out the SLS to the launch pad for the Artemis III mission. The event dates could coincide with NASA conducting a fueled, test run of launch-day activities, commonly known as a wet dress rehearsal.
The Artemis III crew plans to demonstrate docking and rendezvous maneuvers using mock Blue Origin and SpaceX lunar landers in low Earth orbit no earlier than late 2027, according to mission planning details shared by Isaacman. The exhibition will also display hardware relevant to early Artemis missions, alongside landers from the CLPS (Commercial Lunar Payload Services) program.
Historical Precedent at Kennedy Space Center
Hosting public air shows remains a rare occurrence at the Florida spaceport. The first NASA air show took place during the U.S. Bicentennial Exposition on Science and Technology at Kennedy Space Center in 1976, featuring U.S. Navy Blue Angels flyovers. Three decades later, the 2007 World Space Expo brought the Thunderbirds, an F-22 Raptor, and a Navy F-18 Super Hornet to the NASA Causeway.
A subsequent Space & Air Show followed in November 2008, featuring the Blue Angels and special exhibits at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. That event included the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation’s inaugural Astronaut Autograph and Memorabilia Show, which gathered more than 20 Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, and space shuttle crew members. Prior to the upcoming Max Power event, Isaacman’s F-5 flight team is scheduled to perform at the Wings Over Houston Airshow at Ellington Field near NASA’s Johnson Space Center on October 31 and November 1.
