Pakistan has reaffirmed its unwavering resolve to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office on the International Day of Remembrance of and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism. The ministry stated that the country has rendered unprecedented sacrifices in the ongoing fight against the menace, noting that over ninety thousand Pakistanis have lost their lives and the nation has suffered economic losses exceeding one hundred and fifty billion dollars.
Evolving Security Threats and Cross-Border Violence
According to the Foreign Office, terrorism has become increasingly multifaceted as threat actors exploit emerging technologies and cyberspace to facilitate sophisticated and lethal attacks. The statement outlined that Pakistan has also faced disinformation and misinformation campaigns, hydro-terrorism, and extraterritorial assassination campaigns. Furthermore, the Foreign Office noted that 2025 ranked among the deadliest years Pakistan had faced in over a decade. Officials reported that violence was being planned, financed, and directed from sanctuaries across the border, frequently with the support of hostile elements from neighboring countries, though Pakistan remains steadfast in its commitment to defeating terrorism despite these challenges.
Regional Context on Kashmir and Palestine
The Foreign Office also used the release to declare its backing for the Kashmiri population, pointing out that inhabitants in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir continue to endure arbitrary detentions, enforced disappearances, and systematic repression. Meanwhile, the ministry expressed profound anxiety regarding the ongoing distress experienced by the Palestinian population—most notably elderly persons, women, and children—despite diplomatic initiatives and truce efforts. The statement emphasized that foreign occupation, unresolved conflicts, and the denial of the right to self-determination can be exploited by extremists and terrorists, making the urgent resolution of such issues necessary.

International Call to Action
To address these global security concerns, Pakistan called upon the international community to support victims and survivors of terrorism without discrimination. The Foreign Office urged nations to enhance international cooperation and dialogue based on objectivity, impartiality, consistency, and equity, free from double standards, in order to promote a peaceful world for future generations.
