Shift Up has reaffirmed that Stellar Blade: Complete Edition remains on track for its Nintendo Switch 2 launch in 2026.
The post-apocalyptic action adventure is locked into a 2026 release window for Nintendo’s upcoming hardware, according to updates from the developer confirmed during an investor Q&A. While a precise calendar date remains unannounced, the project continues to serve as a cornerstone of the studio’s broader growth plans.
Financial Reports Confirm 2026 Launch Window
When the Switch 2 port was first announced in June, the vague launch window left players guessing about potential delays. Whispers of a possible slip into 2027 circulated among the gaming community during the subsequent two-month silence. However, Shift Up cleared up those timelines in its latest investor briefing.
With events such as the platform expansion to Nintendo Switch 2 scheduled for H2, we expect the current sales momentum to continue,
Shift Up stated during the investor Q&A.
The studio added that it plans to sustain that momentum through seasonal and holiday promotions as well as strategic discounting, while also actively exploring further platform expansion. The company views the platform expansion as a crucial pillar of its ongoing IP expansion strategy.

Expanding Nintendo’s Library in 2026
The arrival of Shift Up’s hit sits alongside other major software milestones for the platform. Publisher Nintendo and developer Monolith Soft have released the overview trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, launching digitally on July 30 and physically on October 1. This journey has been enhanced with 4K resolution in TV mode, and full HD in handheld mode, at 60 frames per second, alongside smoother and sharper cutscenes, a new rare Blade with an accompanying quest, an action battle mode to directly control Blades in mercenary squad battles, and new equipment designs to customize the look of Pyra and Mythra.
While players await an exact day-and-date release from Shift Up, the combination of financial confirmation and active promotional planning ensures the action title will make its debut on Nintendo Switch 2 later in 2026.
