Dolly Parton’s estate has announced that a two-day festival honoring the late singer will be held across Nashville and London next year.
Dollyfest Shifts From Birthday Bash to Global Legacy Event
The festival was originally scheduled for January 2026 to coincide with Parton’s 80th birthday, according to the official press release. That initial plan intended for the singer to participate directly as a performer and host. However, organizer Danny Nozell, Founder and Chief Executive of CTK Enterprises, stated that Parton had to step back from the planning in August 2025 due to initial health challenges.
“We had the venue booked and we had the announcement ready to go. And then, in August 2025, Dolly had to take a step back after her initial health challenges,” Nozell said in a public statement. Nozell added that the updated festival concept follows the mindset of “What Would Dolly Do?”, adapting the original vision into a shared global gathering. Parton ultimately experienced a brief battle with cancer before her death.
Rejecting Traditional Memorials for a Festival Celebration
The estate confirmed that Dollyfest will serve as an alternative to a standard remembrance service. According to Nozell’s statement, Parton made it clear through her own vision that a conventional memorial did not align with her wishes. “We are not discouraging people from celebrating Dolly in the ways they choose. However, as far as a traditional memorial goes, that is not something Dolly wanted,” Nozell said.
The organizing team chose to let immediate tributes occur naturally before moving forward with the multi-continent concept. The event is designed to give fans and artists worldwide a structured opportunity to participate while allowing everyone time to grieve and plan, according to the estate’s announcements. Specific dates, ticketing details, and performing artist lineups for the 2027 event remain unannounced.
