The article, published on August 30, revealed that Blaha and his wife acquired a family home valued at approximately 949,000 euros (23 million koruna) in late 2025, with additional properties in the city center raising their total real estate holdings above 1.5 million euros (36.3 million koruna). Blaha responded with a video accusing the outlet of “giving journalists a taste of their own medicine,” citing the exposure of his private details as a provocation.

He also denied using personal savings, stating, “I’m not hiding anything, but I’m not sharing my private life either.” The video included a map pinpointing the exact address of the property, a move Blaha said was necessary to “expose the hypocrisy” of media outlets that publish sensitive information about public figures.
According to Aktuality.sk, the real estate listing for the Kramáry home listed its value at around 949,000 euros. Blaha’s team did not provide a specific purchase price, but the politician’s statements suggest a disparity between the initial cost and the current valuation. The controversy highlights a broader tension between political transparency and privacy, as Blaha’s critics argue his rhetoric against wealth inequality undermines his own financial choices.
Journalist’s Address Exposed Amid Escalating Tensions
In a follow-up video, Blaha publicly named the street where journalist Tomáš Kyseľ, a contributor to Aktuality.sk, resides. He also filmed outside Kyseľ’s apartment building, claiming that the media’s focus on his private life justified the exposure of others’ addresses. “You opened Pandora’s box,” Blaha said, framing his actions as a response to what he called the outlet’s “targeting” of his family. Kyseľ, who has no security detail, described the incident as “intimidating,” noting that his colleagues and family have received threatening messages. “I don’t feel directly threatened, but the atmosphere is uncomfortable,” Kyseľ told Novinky, a Slovak news outlet.
Šéfredaktor Bárdy, the editor-in-chief of Aktuality.sk, condemned Blaha’s actions as “intimidation,” stating that the outlet had never published the politician’s address. “Blaha is part of a network that spreads misinformation, and this incident shows how dangerous his influence can be,” Bárdy said in an interview with Denník N. The editor emphasized that the outlet’s reporting on Blaha’s property was based on public real estate records, not invasive investigations.
