Independent presidential candidate Călin Georgescu will not be allowed to conduct political actions inside the church in Lipovăț, according to Adrian Chirvase, the protopop of Vaslui. Ahead of a planned weekend tour circulating on social media via an unverified agenda, local officials stepped in to prevent the sanctuary from becoming an electoral platform.
“Official nobody announced me about Mr. Georgescu’s visit to the Lipovăț church,” protopop Adrian Chirvase told HotNews. He noted that while Georgescu is welcome to attend services as a regular believer, political activities inside or in the courtyard of the church are strictly prohibited.
Factory Workers Reject Scheduled Visit at Marcomovas SRL
While promotional posters listed a stop at the Marcomovas Vaslui furniture factory, company leadership and staff immediately pushed back against the itinerary, according to local publication Vremea Nouă.
“The Marcomovas collective does not agree with Georgescu’s visit to the factory and does not understand why we are caught in this program,” administrator Ion Marcu stated, as reported by Ziare.com. The company reinforced this stance via an official message on the Marcomovas Facebook page, confirming that the entire staff voted against hosting the former presidential contender.
