Sheffield United have signed former Crystal Palace and Leicester City forward Jordan Ayew on a deal until the end of the season, according to the club. The 34-year-old Ghana international arrives as a free agent following his departure from the Foxes, bringing extensive top-flight experience to Bramall Lane as boss Chris Wilder reshapes his squad.
Jordan Ayew Brings Premier League Pedigree to Bramall Lane
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder secured the veteran forward to bolster his attacking options for the remainder of the campaign. Ayew, who has earned 124 caps for Ghana, brings substantial top-level pedigree to the South Yorkshire club.

“We’re talking about someone here with bags of experience from right at the top level of the game,” Wilder told the club website regarding the acquisition. “Only a few months ago he was captaining Ghana in the World Cup, so he’s someone with real pedigree.”
The 34-year-old spent the past 11 years playing across the Premier League and the Championship after initially joining Aston Villa from Lorient in 2015. Most recently, Ayew featured for Leicester City before leaving the club at the end of last season following their relegation to League One.
“He did well at this level last season in difficult circumstances and has played all across the front positions during his career which gives us plenty of options,” Wilder told the club website.
