Chief of Austin-Travis County EMS Robert Luckritz told reporters that the injured man sustained at least one gunshot wound to the torso. While local authorities initially withheld details about the victim’s identity, reports confirmed he is a 29-year-old Venezuelan migrant who was struck in the back during the confrontation.

Austin City Council member Mike Siegel, who represents District 7, reported that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer rammed the man’s car before stepping out of a federal vehicle and discharging a firearm at least five times.
Photographs and local media reports from the scene highlighted a dark blue Toyota Corolla parked beneath an overpass, showing visible damage to the passenger-side door alongside multiple bullet holes. Siegel noted he could observe at least two bullet impacts on the vehicle.
