French television veteran Patrick Sébastien has announced plans for his final resting place and a new entertainment project, according to an interview on the podcast Isa TV hosted by Isabelle Morini-Bosc. At 72, the entertainer behind programs like Le Plus Grand Cabaret du monde intends to be buried in Martel, Lot, where he has owned a home since 1978, alongside his son Sébastien, who died in a 1990 motorcycle accident at age 19.

According to the interview, the singer of Le Petit Bonhomme en mousse selected Martel because he wanted to give back to the village that provided him with a home base for decades. “It’s not my primary residence, it’s in Paris still for some time. But I have my house in Martel since 1978. It’s a formidable village and I wanted to give a little bit to the village what it gave me, so I will be buried over there,” Sébastien stated.
Designing a Sépulture for Conversation and Family Reunification
To personalize his burial site, Sébastien commissioned a custom layout from his friend Jean-Luc, who passed away a week prior to the interview. According to the artist, the design incorporates two conversation benches placed on either side of the tomb. “Around my tomb, I have created something very funny. I asked my friend Jean-Luc, who died a week ago, to make me conversation benches. On each side of my tomb, there will be two benches where people can sit and discuss things that were close to my heart. It’s cute, I have a good view also,” he explained.

But the day I can no longer climb up there, I am dead.”
