Three teenagers are in custody following an early morning stabbing in Melbourne’s south-east that left a 41-year-old man fighting for life in hospital. Police state the victim was critically injured outside his Govan Street home in Langwarrin at 12:20am after he confronted a group of boys attempting to break into a vehicle.

The offenders fled the Govan Street residence before officers arrived at the scene. Two 16-year-old boys were subsequently arrested at approximately 4:00am, while a third suspect, aged 17, was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon. A local resident reported that one of the teenage suspects was captured on backyard CCTV cameras before escaping through a front gate. Another suspect was similarly spotted on a neighbour’s CCTV system following the attack. Ambulance Victoria dispatched Mobile Intensive Care and Advanced Life Support paramedics to the location, where medical personnel treated the victim for upper-body wounds before transporting him to the Alfred Hospital.
