Lima transforms for the Mes Morado as the Arzobispo de Lima and the Hermandad del Señor de los Milagros de Nazarenas confirm five processional dates for 2026. These five jornadas will be held under the motto “Con el Señor de los Milagros y León, abramos el corazón”. The official calendar for the processions of the Cristo Moreno includes October 3, 18, 19, and 28, as well as November 1.
The movements of the sacred litters will result in temporary traffic restrictions and detours in the center of Lima, with circulation regulated by transport authorities and the Policía Nacional.
Procession Travels Through Lima Streets
- Saturday, October 3: Starting at 12:00 p.m. from the Santuario de las Nazarenas, the route includes Av. Tacna, Av. Emancipación, Jr. Chancay, and Jr. Conde de Superunda, returning to the sanctuary. During this journey, the image will receive a tribute from the Hermandad del Señor de los Milagros de Nazarenas.
- Sunday, October 18: Starting at 6:00 a.m. from the Santuario de las Nazarenas, the image travels via Av. Tacna, Jr. Ica, and Jr. de la Unión to the Plaza Mayor to receive honors from the Palacio de Gobierno, Palacio Arzobispal, and the Municipalidad Metropolitana de Lima. The route continues through Jr. Carabaya, Jr. Ucayali, Av. Abancay, and Jr. Junín (receiving honors from the Congreso de la República), then through Jr. Huanta, Jr. Áncash, Jr. Maynas, and Jr. Junín, arriving at the Iglesia del Carmen. This is the longest route and the central date of the event; the image will spend the night at the Santuario Virgen del Carmen in Barrios Altos.
- Monday, October 19: Starting at 6:00 a.m. from the Iglesia del Carmen, the route includes Jr. Huánuco, Jr. Puno, Jr. Antonio Bazo (with entry to the Hospital Dos de Mayo), Av. Grau (with entry to Hospital Almenara), Av. Nicolás de Piérola, Av. Abancay, Jr. Leticia, Av. Zavala Loayza, Jr. Miguel Aljovín, and Av. Paseo de la República (with entry to the Palacio de Justicia), eventually returning to the Santuario de las Nazarenas via Av. Tacna. The route also borders Plaza San Martín via Jr. Carabaya and Av. Paseo de la República.
- Wednesday, October 28: Starting at 6:00 a.m. from the Santuario de las Nazarenas, the route follows Av. Tacna, Av. Nicolás de Piérola, Jr. Cañete, and Av. Alfonso Ugarte (entering Hospital Arzobispo Loayza), then continues through Av. Venezuela, Jr. Varela, Av. Bolivia, and Av. Garcilaso de la Vega before returning to the sanctuary.
- Sunday, November 1: Starting at 12:00 p.m. from the Santuario de las Nazarenas, the route follows Av. Tacna, Jr. Callao, Jr. Chancay, and Av. Emancipación, returning via Av. Tacna to the Monasterio de las Nazarenas.
Security Plan
The Municipalidad de Lima presented a security plan for the October processions. Mariella Falla, manager of Citizen Security and Inspection and Control, stated that 1,000 cameras linked to the Operations Control Center will be available, along with tactical, motorized, and rescue personnel and aerial patrolling. Mario Casaretto, manager of Disaster Risk Management, said the priority is protecting the physical integrity of attendees and keeping evacuation routes open. Miguel Puca, sub-manager of Urban Mobility Management and Inspection, noted that personnel will be stationed at strategic points along the routes.
Santuario De Las Nazarenas Sets Special Schedule
The Santuario de las Nazarenas will maintain a special schedule from October 4 to October 31, opening just before 6:00 a.m. and closing after the 9:00 p.m. mass. Confessions are available at the Capilla de la Reconciliación from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. From October 5 to 31, the faithful may venerate the image between 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. (or until 10:00 p.m. per some reports), while the Museo del Señor de los Milagros is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Televised masses will take place at the Santuario de las Nazarenas on October 4, 11, 18, and 25. On October 4, masses will begin at 5:00 p.m. due to Regional and Municipal Elections. The Arzobispado de Lima also announced the return of “Meditaciones Nocturnas en el Mes Morado,” which will be broadcast daily at 9:00 p.m. via social media and its website.
