Amaravati Quantum Computing Launch Set for Feb 3, 2027

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced on Saturday that quantum computing operations will officially begin in Amaravati on February 3, 2027, through a collaboration with IBM, TCS, and L&T. Amaravati Quantum Launch Date Set for February 2027

The upcoming launch transitions Andhra Pradesh from a consumer of technology into a producer and exporter of quantum hardware systems. Even before the arrival of a scheduled 156-qubit quantum system, quantum testbeds have already begun functioning in Amaravati.

As part of this rollout, mini quantum test labs have also been established. A lab named Q-Shiva and comprising five quantum computers was formally inaugurated at the summit.

Establish Venture Fund to Support Deep-Tech Startups

To support the state’s goal of becoming a global knowledge hub, a Pan-IIT World Council will be established in Amaravati. This body will guide curriculum reforms, foster startups, provide mentorship, and build what Mr. Naidu described as the world’s largest network of academics.

The state government announced a ₹500 crore venture fund corpus specifically dedicated to promoting deep-tech startup companies. Additional measures introduced at the summit include a Global IIT Mentor Network, an IIT Technology Transfer Pipeline, and a DeepTech Policy Package.

Target Supplying Fifty Lakh Artificial Intelligence Professionals

The state aims to supply 50 lakh artificial intelligence professionals, aligning with a national target set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to prepare 1 crore AI professionals across the country. The government also intends to foster entrepreneurial skills in students starting from the high school level with assistance from the Pan-IIT Council.

The Pan-IIT AP event was organized by PanIIT Alumni India. Key figures in attendance included Pan-IIT Alumni India chairman Prabhat Kumar, vice-chairman Amitabh Ranjan, Pan-IIT AP Summit chair Swadeep Pillarisetti, and secretary of ITE&S Department of GoAP Katamneni Bhaskar.
