It doesn’t look like it. But this strange device attached to the back of a van and rubbing against the road surface is a little gem of technology, estimated to be worth €200,000. Its name? Ground-penetrating radar. Its mission? To examine the subsoil of Ancenis-Saint-Géréon (Loire-Atlantique) damaged by the historic flood of February 2026.

Proof: on February 24, two holes 50 cm wide and 2 m deep were dug in the middle of Joubert Boulevard and the Éperon garden….
