Ubisoft has released its Fall 2026 update for Assassin’s Creed, confirming that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will finally receive New Game+ on November 5, while announcing that no other franchise remakes are currently in active development following the release of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
The latest franchise briefing, delivered by Head of Content Jean Guesdon, outlines major updates for existing titles, development progress on upcoming games, and early plans for the series’ 20th anniversary in 2027. While fans of the pirate-themed remake must wait for further classic revivals, the studio is rolling out long-requested features for its massive open-world Viking adventure.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla New Game Plus Details
Nearly six years after its original release, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has surpassed 40 million players and is finally getting its most requested community feature. The upcoming patch launches on November 5, allowing players to restart the story without losing their character progression, skills, and equipment from a finished save.
The mode features dedicated scaling so that levels, gear, and enemies adjust appropriately for a New Game+ run. The update also introduces an optional progression mode where gear, runes, and masteries contribute to Eivor’s overall power, alongside new runes, achievements, a stash system, and a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe’s appearance in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Players will also gain access to Mithril, a new resource used to upgrade Divine Gear and strengthen runes across all items.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Final Major Update and Studio Remake Plans
The franchise update follows the recent release of the final major content update for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which introduced New Game+, Nightmare Mode, new rewards, finishers, trinkets, and additional customization options.
Despite industry speculation fueled by remarks from CEO Yves Guillemot about revisiting past titles, Ubisoft clarified its current stance on older entries.

One thing we want to be transparent about today is that we currently have no other Assassin’s Creed remake actively in development. Our teams are already focused on the next chapter of Assassin’s Creed titles, including projects you haven’t heard about yet, featuring new settings and stories.

The publisher noted that rebuilding old systems from scratch for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced was a massive undertaking, but emphasized that the door for future classic revivals remains open.
Ubisoft Develops Darker Assassin's Creed Hexe Set in 17th Century
Development on the next mainline single-player entry, Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe, continues behind the scenes. Ubisoft describes the project as a darker experience set during the 17th-century Holy Roman Empire where witch hunts play a central role. While no release date has been set, the team will share its next major update in 2027.
Alongside the Hexe update, Ubisoft included a cryptic string of letters and numbers that community members have attempted to decode using ciphers. Meanwhile, the multiplayer project Codename Invictus is being reworked after playtest feedback showed participants wanted more of the core pillars that define the series.
