PETALING JAYA: Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik continued their quest for the All England title, securing a spot in the quarter-finals on Thursday in Birmingham. The former world champions overcame a tough challenge from compatriots Wan Arif Wan Junaidi and Yap Roy King in the second round.

A Hard-Fought Victory for Chia and Soh

The match between Aaron-Wooi Yik and Wan Arif-Yap Roy King proved to be a thrilling contest, lasting 63 minutes. The second seeds ultimately prevailed with a 21-15, 18-21, 21-18 victory. This win ensures Malaysia will have at least one representative in the semi-finals.

All-Malaysian Quarter-Final Clash

Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik will now face another Malaysian pair, Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun, in the quarter-finals. Wei Chong and Kai Wun efficiently dispatched their opponents, Taiwan’s Chiu Hsiang-chieh and Wang Chi-lin, 21-14, 21-18 in just 33 minutes.

Kai Wun noted that their opponents attempted to disrupt their rhythm, but they managed to remain composed. Wei Chong, currently recovering from an injury, expressed his focus on enjoying the game and performing well in the tournament.
