NORMAL, Ill. – The Belmont University women’s basketball team suffered an 83-78 overtime defeat at the hands of Illinois State Friday night. Despite building a 12-point first-half lead and taking a 33-25 advantage into halftime, the Redbirds (16-10, 10-5 MVC) rallied to outscore the Bruins (16-10, 12-3 MVC) 43-35 in the second half and overtime.
