UNC Asheville Women’s Swimming & Diving Makes Waves at ASUN Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. – The UNC Asheville Bulldogs are making a strong showing at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships, currently holding fourth place after a compelling second day of competition. The team demonstrated significant progress, achieving three lifetime-best performances and three season-best marks on Thursday, February 19th.

Diving Dominance: Pichetto and Travis Shine

UNC Asheville’s divers are proving to be key contributors to the team’s success. Eleanor Pichetto and Leigha Travis delivered impressive performances in the 1M diving event, securing fourth and fifth place respectively in the B final. Haley Fein also contributed, finishing 18th. Their combined efforts earned the Bulldogs a valuable 36 points.

Relay Success and Individual Breakthroughs

The Bulldogs’ versatility was on full display with strong showings in both relay and individual events. The 200 free relay team, comprised of Anna Marcotti, Andie Quisumbing, Beatrice Cocconcelli, and Gracie Hunt, achieved a season-best time of 1:33.79, finishing fifth overall.

Several swimmers recorded personal bests. Alessia Cunegatti finished sixth in the 400 IM with a season-best 4:22.94, while Rose Sciaudone achieved a lifetime-best time of 4:30.27 in the same event. Anna Marcotti also secured sixth place in the 200 free, clocking in at 1:50.02. Roberta Marchesi posted a lifetime-best time of 1:53.12 in the same event.
