Cal State Fullerton Track & Field: A Promising Start to the 2026 Season
The Cal State Fullerton Titans launched their 2026 outdoor track and field season at the RCC Invite in Riverside, California, on Friday, securing an impressive eight podium finishes. The event marked the collegiate debut for many Titans athletes, signaling a wave of new talent joining the program.
Jubak Shines in Collegiate Debut
Freshman Dylan Jubak immediately made his mark, claiming gold in the 1,500m with a personal-best time of 3:57.43. Senior Justin Singer followed closely, earning a third-place finish in the same event with a time of 3:58.55. Jubak also competed in the 3,000m, finishing sixth with a time of 8:35.51, demonstrating his versatility.
Strong Performances Across Multiple Events
The Titans showcased strength in both running and field events. Senior Jahzara Davis secured a gold medal in the 100m hurdles, clocking in at 13.57. Freshman Jazzmin Williams added to the medal count with a silver in the women’s 100m dash (11.87), while Devin Bragg placed fifth in the men’s 100m (10.66).
In the 3,000m runs, the Titans demonstrated depth. Singer secured second place (8:31.32), with freshmen Samuel Berhane, Jubak, and Andrew Quast finishing within the top eight. Similarly, seniors Shandy Moore and Natalie Maahs achieved top-eight finishes in their respective 3,000m race.
Field Event Successes
Freshman Brielle Moseley impressed in her collegiate debut, taking third in the women’s discus throw with a distance of 44.41m. Judah Withey also made a strong first impression, finishing ninth in the men’s shot put (14.18m). Brasen Durkalec and Caleb Mabins contributed with top-12 finishes in the long and triple jumps, respectively.
Competition and Team Results
UC San Diego dominated the RCC Invite, earning 40 medals, including 13 gold. Despite the strong competition, CSUF accumulated a total team score of 119 points – 61 from the men’s division and 58 from the women’s.
Looking Ahead: The Ben Brown Invite
The Titans will return to action at the Ben Brown Invite, hosted at the Titan Track Complex, from March 12-13. This home event offers an opportunity for the team to build on their early-season success and continue to refine their performances.
