D-Tex Visual releases G2IX sensor for theme park safety and maintenance

D-Tex Visual introduced the G2iX sensor as the latest addition to its lineup of artificial intelligence monitoring equipment for the theme park industry. The company draws on technology developed outside the amusement sector to supply preventive maintenance solutions for safety restraints, coaster cars, and track elements.

The G2iX model extracts data from a newly developed coded field technique. The sensor plots 3D movements and tracks angle, standoff, runout, and wobble during every rotational cycle. This captures the actual path of fast-moving parts in real time and detects tilts and bumps.

D-Tex Visual Develops Four Monitoring Hardware Variants

The monitoring suite includes four primary hardware variants: the G2i, the G2iX, the G2T, and the G2R. The G2iX provides double the processing power of the compact G2i model. The G2i measures belt RPM and flags anomalies using multi-layered sensing and edge AI while running power and data over the industry-standard CAN network.

For locations where cables cannot reach fast-moving parts, D-Tex Visual developed the G2T battery-powered transmitter to pair with the CAN-powered G2R receiver. The G2R receives data from internal detectors across air gaps and incorporates the same built-in monitoring functions as the G2i, alongside compatibility with the self-contained Bolt-iT sensor.

Applications Across Safety Restraints and Coaster Tracks

Did you know?

The Bolt-iT AI sensor was the early technology from which D-Tex Visual has continued to push the capabilities of its patented technology in various fields.

From the early days of developing the Bolt-iT AI sensor, we have continued to push the capabilities of our patented technology in various fields, said Lee Hollinshead, founder, D-Tex Visual, pointing to wider industrial adoption outside the amusement sector.

While the technology originated outside the theme park market, acceptance in broader industrial applications allowed the company to create a complementary range of Bolt-iT variants. D-Tex Visual now offers its products and expertise for licensing or acquisition to key companies in strategic sectors, including theme parks.

Frequently Asked Questions About D-Tex Visual Monitoring

What data does the G2iX sensor extract from coaster restraints?

The G2iX uses 3D plotting to extract angle, standoff, runout, and wobble data for every rotational cycle, allowing operators to visualize component paths in real time.

How do the G2T and G2R components operate without cables?

The G2T operates as a battery-powered transmitter that relays data across air gaps to the CAN-powered G2R receiver, bypassing the need for physical cabling on fast-moving parts.

What licensing options are available for these sensors?

D-Tex Visual offers its products and expertise for licensing or acquisition to key companies in strategic sectors, including theme parks.
