DEFIANCE, Ohio – A house fire broke out early Friday morning on Harrison Avenue and Defiance police are investigating the cause.
Fire Discovered During Separate Police Response
The fire was first observed by a Defiance police officer at approximately 1:51 a.m. At 1023 Harrison Avenue. The officer was initially responding to a different call on Warren Street when the fire was spotted.
Residents Evacuated, No Injuries Reported
Upon arriving at the scene, an officer encountered an adult resident evacuating the home with his children. The resident confirmed that no one else was inside and that no injuries had occurred. Due to the proximity of the fire, nearby residents were evacuated from a neighboring home and received care from Defiance Fire and EMS.
