A Latest Intimate Experience: ESCAPE
DIAVOLO’s founder and Creative Director, Jacques Heim – likewise a choreographer for Cirque du Soleil’s long-running Las Vegas production KÀ and creative director of the 16th Asian Games Opening Ceremony – is bringing a new function, ESCAPE, to Los Angeles. The performance will run for a limited engagement of 35 shows, from March 28 to June 14, 2026, following a two-month run in fall 2025.
ESCAPE, a 70-minute piece, explores the human struggle for freedom within a chaotic world. The performance features 22 artists interacting with DIAVOLO’s signature custom-made architectural structures. The work examines themes of danger, survival, resiliency, and community, aiming to connect with audiences on a visceral and emotional level.
Performances of ESCAPE will be held at L’ESPACE DIAVOLO (616 Moulton Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90031), a black box performance space in the Arts District, with a limited capacity of 90 guests. This intimate setting places the audience just 5 feet from the action, offering a unique perspective on the company’s athleticism and artistry. The performance is set to a soundtrack spanning pop, EDM, and rock music from the 1970s to the present day.
Heim intends to extend the experience beyond the performance itself, offering pre- and post-show opportunities for audience members to interact with the architectural structures featured in ESCAPE. Guests will be guided by company members to participate in the movement and experience the structures firsthand.
