Ethics & Standards Policy

Newsy-Today.com maintains strict ethical guidelines intended to protect the integrity of our journalism and the trust of our readers. These standards apply to all members of the newsroom, from reporters and editors to contributors and freelancers.

Editorial Responsibility

Ethical oversight is led by Chief Editor Samantha Carter and Managing Editor Daniel Hughes, in close coordination with our section editors:

  • Rachel Morgan, U.S. News Editor
  • Thomas Alvarez, World News Editor
  • Michelle Davenport, Business Editor
  • Adrian Patel, Technology Editor
  • Lena Brooks, Entertainment Editor
  • Marcus Bennett, Sports Editor
  • Dr. Emily Chen, Science Editor
  • Jonathan Reed, Health Editor

Each editor is responsible for upholding ethical standards within their coverage area and for ensuring that stories meet our expectations for fairness, accuracy, and respect for subjects and readers.

Core Ethical Principles

  • Integrity: We report the news honestly and transparently. Fabrication, plagiarism, and deliberate misrepresentation are strictly prohibited.
  • Independence: Our coverage is not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, or political interests. Journalists are required to avoid conflicts of interest and to disclose any potential conflicts to editorial leadership.
  • Fairness: We aim to present information in context, seeking relevant perspectives and avoiding unfair or misleading portrayals of individuals, groups, or events.
  • Respect for Privacy: We consider the potential impact of our coverage on individuals’ privacy and dignity, especially in sensitive cases.
  • Accountability: We correct errors in line with our Corrections Policy and invite readers to raise concerns or questions about our coverage.

Use of Sources

We strive to identify sources clearly whenever possible. Anonymous sources may be used when necessary to protect individuals from harm or reprisals, but their information must be corroborated and their credibility carefully evaluated.

Images, Multimedia, and AI Tools

Images, video, and multimedia elements are selected and edited with care so that they accurately represent the events being described. Any illustrative or non-documentary images are clearly labeled. We do not knowingly publish manipulated media that misleads readers.

Where digital or automated tools support the editorial process, human editors retain full responsibility for the final content and its compliance with our ethical standards.

Raising Concerns

Readers can report potential ethical issues or concerns with our coverage through the Contact Page. Messages are reviewed by editorial leadership and, when appropriate, addressed in line with our Editorial Policy and Corrections Policy.
