Details of the Crash
Troopers responded to the intersection of South Maryland Avenue and Reamer Avenue at approximately 8:20 p.m. on February 3, 2026. Preliminary findings indicate a Toyota Tacoma was waiting to turn left from the left lane of eastbound South Maryland Avenue onto Reamer Avenue. Simultaneously, a Dodge Ram was stopped at the stop sign on southbound Reamer Avenue. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was approaching the intersection on westbound South Maryland Avenue, reportedly traveling at a high speed.
As the Toyota initiated its left turn, the motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the truck. The impact caused the Toyota to spin, subsequently striking the front of the Dodge Ram.
The 29-year-old male operator of the Harley-Davidson, a resident of Wilmington, was transported to a local hospital where he later died. Authorities are withholding his name pending notification of his family.
The drivers of the Toyota, a 32-year-old man from Wilmington, and the Dodge Ram, a 66-year-old man from Newark, reported no injuries.
