In a statement, Sør-Vest police district’s senior public prosecutor, Christine Kleppa, confirmed that the suspects have been set free due to insufficient evidence. "We have analyzed digital traces and conducted necessary searches at multiple addresses," Kleppa said.
The assailant, also in his 20s, was apprehended shortly after the attack in Sandnes’ city center. Four others were subsequently detained, but all have since been released without charge.
