As fuel prices continue to rise sharply – with diesel currently exceeding 2.20 euros per liter, compared to 1.65 euros in Poland – more and more German drivers are crossing the border to fill up their tanks in Poland, often facing long queues.
Sonderaktion startet
This trend is expected to intensify starting Thursday, March 12th, as the Orlen Group launches a special promotion on fuel in Poland. For eight consecutive weekends, drivers can purchase up to 50 liters of gasoline or diesel at a reduced price of up to 35 groszy (approximately 0.08 euros) per liter.
The promotion, reported on Tuesday by the Polish publication “businessinsider.com.pl,” requires customers to be users of the Orlen Vitay App, activate corresponding coupons, and purchase goods worth at least five Złoty (excluding fuel). A 20 groszy per liter reduction is available for fuel purchases when activating the coupons.
Andreas Schwarze, a resident of the border region who regularly follows Polish news, anticipates a significant influx of drivers. He noted that the high fuel prices are impacting many, and expressed hope that other Polish gas stations will follow suit, as will stations in Germany.
According to Business Insider Polska, the fuel promotion is scheduled to run until May 1st.
