Haleon Pakistan Commences Local Production of Panadol 500mg at Jamshoro Facility

Haleon Pakistan Limited has commenced manufacturing Panadol 500mg tablets at its Jamshoro facility, shifting to in-house production for the popular pain relief medicine. Formerly known as GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Pakistan Limited, the company disclosed the operational milestone in a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Friday.

Company invests millions to upgrade local manufacturing facilities

The transition follows an investment of approximately $10 million, or roughly PKR 2.8 billion, which the company announced on October 13, 2023, according to Profit by Pakistan Today and Mettis Global. The capital outlay brought updated manufacturing technology to Pakistan and expanded domestic production capacity for the company’s core pain relief portfolio. Beyond the tablet operations, the company also approved an investment of £3.58 million, roughly $4.9 million, in January 2026 to modernize its Panadol Liquid packaging line. That specific upgrade targets Children’s Panadol Drops, Children’s Panadol Liquid, and Panadol Forte Suspension.

Revised tablet appearance retains original quality and efficacy

Locally manufactured Panadol 500mg tablets feature a revised physical appearance. A beacon engraving replaces the traditional ‘Panadol’ text engraving on the face of the pill. Haleon stated that the design adjustment is strictly visual. The company confirmed in its stock exchange disclosure that product quality and therapeutic efficacy remain completely unchanged.

Haleon Pakistan maintains a workforce of 450 employees nationwide. Alongside its manufacturing plant in Jamshoro, the consumer healthcare firm operates regional sales offices located in Multan, Lahore, and Islamabad.
