Liverpool could pay £115m for Brentford duo Kayode and Schade

A potential double raid on Brentford could cost Liverpool up to £115m as the club tracks defender Michael Kayode and attacker Kevin Schade. According to a report credited to TEAMtalk, Kayode is currently “at the top of their watchlist” as the club seeks to address succession planning at right-back.

While no formal negotiations are underway, Liverpool’s interest in the 22-year-old Italy international is described as serious and sustained. Kayode, who joined Brentford in 2025 following time with Juventus and Fiorentina, is valued by Brentford at at least €60-65m, though other estimates place his price tag between £51m and £55m. His contract runs until June 2032, granting Brentford significant leverage in valuation.

Targeting the Right-Back Position

Liverpool’s recruitment team is attracted to Kayode’s profile, which includes the ability to carry the ball, defend aggressively, and cover multiple roles across the back line. Brentford has effectively used Kayode's long throw, a trait that adds another dimension to his game. His versatility, age, and adaptation to the home league strengthen Brentford’s hand in demanding a hefty outlay for a full-back.

Frontline Flexibility with Kevin Schade

The second target, 24-year-old Germany international Kevin Schade, offers Liverpool pace and flexibility across the frontline. Schade has recorded three goals in his first five league matches of the season. Sporting director Julian Ward is reportedly plotting a move for the forward in the January transfer window.

Brentford is currently attempting to secure Schade on an improved contract. If these discussions fail, Liverpool may have an opportunity to bid for the attacker, for whom Brentford is thought to want £60m. A failure to reach an agreement on a new contract could trigger a swift bid from Anfield.

Brentford’s Market Position

Because Brentford is under no pressure to sell quickly, they maintain control over the timeline and pricing. The combined cost for both players would represent a major investment, making the situation a developing one rather than an imminent breakthrough. Whether formal bids are made may depend on shifting priorities under Andoni Iraola, as well as injuries and performance. The £115m total is enormous, but the players are already proven in the Premier League.
