Maia Estianty: Kehilangan Penjaga Rumah Setia

Jakarta – Indonesian singer and businesswoman Maia Estianty is grieving the loss of her beloved dog, Eto, who passed away after 16 years of companionship. Eto served as a faithful guardian of her home and a cherished member of her family.

Estianty shared her sorrow on Instagram, reflecting on the significant role Eto played in her life, particularly during a period of personal transition. She recounted receiving Eto as a three-month-old puppy when she first moved into her Pejaten residence.

“16 years… is not a short time. Since I moved to the Pejaten house, when I was still ‘single,’ you were sent to my house as a 3-month-old baby and over time, you became the most loyal guard in the front yard of the house,” Estianty wrote in her post.

Eto was more than just a pet; he was a vigilant protector. Estianty fondly remembered how Eto would alert her to visitors with enthusiastic barking, essentially saying, “Don’t worry… I’m guarding this house.” He even seemed to mark prayer times, responding to the call to prayer with his own vocalizations.

Before the installation of security systems, Estianty felt secure knowing Eto was on watch. “Every time a guest came, your bark was the loudest letting me know, ‘Mom, there’s a guest coming’,” she shared.

Eto’s grave is adorned with flowers, a testament to the love and gratitude Estianty feels for her four-legged friend. She expressed her thanks for his unwavering loyalty and the 16 years of devoted companionship.

“Thank you, Eto… for loyalty that never asked for anything in return, for 16 years of guarding full of love,” Estianty concluded.
