A man in his 30s was found dead Saturday evening. The alleged perpetrator called the police himself.
“As far as I know, the suspect was the one who called us,” said incident commander Tore Barstad to the press at the scene.
Relatives have not yet been notified, police say.
The suspect is linked to the address and time of the incident, according to police. He is now charged with murder.
“Police have been at the scene and conducted forensic investigations. A case has been opened. The man is charged with murder,” said operations manager Rune Hekkelstrand to VG early Sunday morning.
He states that further investigations will be carried out on Sunday and that the case is under investigation.
Police are currently unwilling to answer details about the relationship between those involved, the sequence of events, or what seizures have been made.
Police were alerted after a call from the apartment.
“As far as I know, it was the suspect who called us,” says incident commander Tore Barstad.
“Are you aware of any other witnesses to the incident?
“No, we do not know that. We are also trying to map that: Who has been present in the last 24 hours, as we do not know when the incident occurred.”
Police initially reported the incident at 9:12 PM. At that time, police described it as a suspicious death.
VG has spoken to a person who lives in the neighborhood. The person heard noises Saturday evening:
“I heard a lot of noise, as if someone hit the wall,” says the neighbor.
The same neighbor says there has been a lot of commotion in the neighborhood and says they have stopped parking their car in the parking lot due to vandalism.
