Dungannon Court Charges Over Carrie Mullane Disappearance
A 35-year-old man is due to appear before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court charged with murder and preventing the lawful burial of a body. Detective Superintendent Richard Thornton from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Serious Crime Branch discussed the investigation into the disappearance of Carrie Mullane, who is also known as Carrie Noonan. Ms Mullane, a 39-year-old mother-of-four from Limerick, has been missing since she arrived in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, on October 10. The PSNI launched a search after An Garda Síochána reported concerns for her welfare on October 29, though officers have not yet established her whereabouts, rte.ie reported.
Investigators state it is very likely Ms Mullane came to harm shortly after arriving in Northern Ireland. According to the PSNI, the last confirmed sighting of Ms Mullane places her in a taxi traveling from the Enniskillen bus station on Wellington Road to Trasna Park at approximately 9 pm on Saturday, October 10. From that point onward, her movements remain unknown. Earlier this week, detectives arrested the 35-year-old suspect and subsequently secured a 36-hour court extension to question him before bringing the murder and concealment charges.
Police Recover Boat and Campervan in County Fermanagh Search
The PSNI released images of a blue and white campervan—noted as having no wheels—and a boat in an effort to trace Ms Mullane’s final movements. It was reported that the boat was recovered from Tullyinishmore Jetty between Enniskillen and Carrybridge on Friday, while the PSNI also referred to the campervan during the inquiry. Detectives believe establishing the movements of both vehicles between the late hours of October 10 and November 1 will yield crucial clues in the murder investigation.
Detective Superintendent Thornton appealed directly to boat owners on Upper Lough Erne who may have spotted the recovered vessel on the lough during that timeframe. Police have also asked members of the public to check dashcam, doorbell, or any other personal footage captured between October 10 and November 1. While the community has shown significant support, authorities have urged individuals to refrain from online speculation as the inquiries continue. He urged anyone with information no matter how small or insignificant
to get in touch, saying it could prove key in bringing Carrie home and providing answers for her loved ones
. Elsewhere, the PSNI today said it is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support shown by the community
but asked for the public to refrain from speculation, particularly online
. We are releasing images of a boat and a campervan today that we believe are linked to Carrie’s disappearance and suspected murder,
