In 1978, Pliszczyńska left with their children for Paris. Kociniak successfully pleaded for her return, committing to change his ways and abandon his more reckless habits. Later in life, Kociniak faced further hardship with a house fire in 2008 and intestinal surgery in 2010. He found peace in a country house in Długosiodle, where Pliszczyńska provided devoted care until her death in February 2016. Final Months and Legacy
Following his wife’s death, Kociniak struggled with grief and did not attend her funeral. He passed away on March 17, 2016, just a month after her. Both Marian Kociniak and Grażyna Pliszczyńska are buried together in the family plot at the Evangelical-Reformed Cemetery in Warsaw.
