ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – The New Mexico men’s basketball team begins the Mountain West schedule on Saturday night when it hosts San Jose State at The Pit. Game time is 7:00 p.m. and the game will be televised on Altitude2, streamed for free on the Mountain West Network and air on Lobo Radio Network.

Tickets for Saturday’s game are on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and head to the north concourse for a meet and greet with members of our Lobo Football team for an autograph session before tipoff. The first 750 fans will receive a Lobos style Santa hat and be on the lookout for Santa walking around the concourse as we celebrate a Merry Pitmas. We are collecting donations for S.A.F.E House, New Mexico’s largest domestic abuse shelter. Items you can bring that will make a difference are toiletries, blankets, diapers, baby wipes, children’s pajamas and bath towels.

The Lobos (9-2) look to remain unbeaten at home this season and extend a 18-game home win streak, the fifth-longest active streak in the nation. UNM has won six straight overall and is coming off an 75-59 win over Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday. Jake Hall leads the Lobos in scoring at 14.2 points per game and has tied a school freshman record with four 20-point games.

San Jose State is 5-6 on the season and is coming off an 86-82 home loss to Stanford last weekend. The Spartans are led in scoring by Colby Garland, as the Longwood transfer averages 18.9 ppg.

The Lobos lead the all-time series 23-6 overall and 13-1 at home. The teams split the regular season games last season, each winning at home, before UNM won the Mountain West Tournament quarterfinal matchup.    

The Lobos will take a 10-day holiday break after the game before returning to action on Dec. 30 with a trip to Boise State. UNM returns home on Jan. 3 to host Wyoming, with tickets on sale now at GoLobos.com/tickets.
