Old Dominion Golf Looks to Continue Cutter Creek Success

NORFOLK, Va. – Old Dominion University’s men’s golf team is set to compete in the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate this weekend in Snow Hill, North Carolina. The three-day tournament, hosted by East Carolina, Elon, and Gardner-Webb, promises a challenging test for the Monarchs as they aim to build on a history of strong finishes at this event.

A Familiar Course, A Competitive Field

The Cutter Creek Golf Club, a par-72 course spanning 7,327 yards, will host the competition. The field includes a diverse range of programs, including Campbell, Charleston Southern, East Carolina, Elon, Fairleigh Dickinson, Francis Marion, Gardner-Webb, Harvard, Presbyterian, Providence, Radford, Sandhills Community College, and Temple. Campbell enters the tournament as the defending champion, having secured the title in 2025 with an impressive 22-under par 842.

Monarchs’ Recent Performance at Cutter Creek

Old Dominion has consistently performed well at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, achieving three consecutive Top-5 finishes. Last year, the team finished fifth overall with a combined score of seven-over par 871. ODU’s Lineup for the Tournament

The Monarchs will field a strong lineup including Quin Covington, Kaijun Ma, Cullen Campbell, Jakub Sutor, Joseph MacPherson, and Heath Stout. Ma previously tied for 13th at the 2025 Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, while Sutor tied for 23rd. Jacob Gunther, an alumnus, led ODU with a one-under 215 to tie for seventh in the same tournament.

East Carolina University is also hosting the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, which begins March 27th and runs through March 29th at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, North Carolina.
