Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready is releasing a graphic novel and rock opera titled Mike McCready’s Farewell to Seasons, set to launch on October 6.
A Decades-Long Project
McCready has been developing this multimedia project for over 20 years. It began as an idea for a musical before evolving into its current form with the collaboration of director and writer Cameron Crowe.
The Story Unfolds
Farewell to Seasons tells a fictional story centered on David Williams, a musician navigating Seattle’s music scene in the early 1990s. The project, described as a “historical fantasy,” will be co-authored by McCready and comic writer Mark Sable. It will be accompanied by a rock opera featuring original music from the perspective of Williams.
Deluxe and platinum editions of the graphic novel will include a soundtrack featuring new and original songs penned by McCready.
Rantz A Hoseley, Editor in Chief of Z2, stated that he has “wanted for years to work on a project that would reflect what it was actually like for the musicians and the fans when ‘the world came to Seattle.’”
Pre-orders are currently available through the Z2 website, with physical copies available worldwide on October 6.
