The University of Pennsylvania baseball team suffered an 8-7 loss to East Carolina in extra innings on Sunday at Lewis Field at Clark-LeClair Stadium, dropping their season record to 3-10 while East Carolina improved to 12-8-1.

Ryan Taylor led the Quakers’ offense, going 3-for-3 with a solo home run in the third inning, a double, two runs scored, and two walks. Qwynn Ahearn contributed three RBIs with a three-run home run in the third, also scoring a run and drawing a walk. Gavin Degnan hit his third home run of the season, a two-run shot in the eighth inning.

Degnan’s two-run home run in the eighth put Penn ahead 7-5, but East Carolina tied the game again in the bottom of the eighth after a series of walks and a wild pitch.
The game concluded in extra innings when Michael Kalinich hit a walk-off home run for East Carolina.
