Pew Research Internet Study: Researchers & Contributors

by Chief Editor

A recent report represents a broad collaborative effort involving researchers, analysts, and editorial staff. The project, which focused on a yet-unspecified topic, drew on expertise from multiple teams within the Pew Research Center, as well as external advisors.

Project Team

Colleen McClain, Senior Researcher, and Monica Anderson, Director of Internet and Technology Research, led the primary research efforts. They were supported by Olivia Sidoti, a Research Analyst, and William Bishop, a Research Associate.

The research team as well included Jeffrey Gottfried, Associate Director of Internet and Technology Research, Michelle Faverio, a Research Associate, and Eugenie Park, a Research Assistant. Editorial and graphic design were overseen by Peter Bell, Associate Director of Design and Production, and David Kent, Senior Editorial Specialist.

Communications and web publishing were handled by Haley Nolan, Communications Manager, Maya Pottiger, Communications Associate, and Sara Atske, Digital Producer.

Did You Know? The project benefited from the guidance of a methodology team comprised of eleven individuals: Courtney Kennedy, Scott Keeter, Ashley Amaya, Andrew Mercer, Dorene Asare-Marfo, Anna Brown, Arnold Lau and Dana Popky.

The project also incorporated feedback from Pew Research Center staff Juliana Menasce Horowitz and Gregory A. Smith. Crucially, the development of the questionnaire itself was informed by external experts, including Michael Madaio, Ph.D., Senior Research Scientist at Google Research, and Mary Madden, an Adjunct Faculty member at Georgetown University.

Further input came from Shreya Singh Hernández, Youth and Tech Safety Lead at the Aspen Digital, Aspen Institute, and S. Craig Watkins, Ph.D., Ernest A. Sharpe Centennial Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. The questionnaire also received feedback from teen reviewers Adam Horowitz and Nate Horowitz.

Expert Insight: The extensive list of contributors highlights the complexity of modern research projects and the value placed on diverse perspectives. Incorporating feedback from both academic experts and the target demographic—in this case, teen reviewers—is a best practice for ensuring the validity and relevance of research findings.
