The National Meteorological Service (SMN) has issued a red alert for strong storms affecting the provinces of Corrientes and Formosa. The situation, expected to last over 72 hours, is characterized by intense electrical activity, heavy rainfall, and wind gusts potentially reaching 50 km/h.

Extended Duration of the Storm in Corrientes and Formosa

  • Corrientes: Storms began on Saturday morning and are expected to continue persistently until Monday night.
  • Formosa: Precipitation also started on Saturday. While a slight improvement is anticipated during Sunday afternoon, storms will return on Monday morning and could extend until Tuesday night, the 24th.

The SMN also indicates that the weather events will be accompanied by northwesterly winds and abundant rainfall, with potential accumulations reaching 20 millimeters.
