Educational and Experience Requirements
For Assignment Level I, applicants must possess a master’s degree from an accredited college or university specializing in a physical, biological, or environmental science, or public health. Higher-level assignments—Level II and above—require either a doctorate degree in a related field with one year of full-time experience in a supervisory, administrative, or research capacity, or a master’s degree with three years of full-time research experience.
Alternatively, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered. However, all candidates must hold at least a master’s degree and demonstrate at least two years of relevant research experience. Two years of experience as a City Research Scientist Level I can also fulfill the experience requirements.
Essential Skills
Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in a range of technical and interpersonal skills. These include expertise in Oracle SQL, Power BI, Python, ML Algorithms, and Statistics, as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of Smartsheet and quality assurance methods is also preferred.
