Resident Evil Requiem DLC: What We Know About the Story and Potential Characters

Less than two weeks after the release of Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has already confirmed that the story of Leon, Grace and the team isn’t over. The developer is currently working on a story DLC for the game. Here’s a breakdown of what’s known and what’s been leaked so far.

Release Date: When Will the Resident Evil 9 DLC Arrive?

While Resident Evil 9’s director, Koshi Nakanishi, has confirmed a story DLC is in development, a specific release date remains unknown. Capcom has stated:

“We are currently working hard on it. It will take a while, so we ask for your patience and hope you glance forward to it.”

For comparison, the Shadows of Rose DLC for Resident Evil Village arrived roughly a year and a half after the main game. The Separate Ways DLC for the Resident Evil 4 Remake was released six months after that game.

Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem suggests the DLC is “far along in development,” but hasn’t provided a concrete date.

For Which Platforms Will the Resident Evil 9 DLC Be Released?

There are currently no platform restrictions announced. It’s anticipated the expansion will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

What Do We Know About the Story and Potential Characters?

Capcom has revealed limited details about the DLC’s story, stating it will “delve deeper into the world of Requiem.” This suggests players may not control Leon or Grace, but instead experience the story from the perspective of a new or existing character.

What Will the Resident Evil Requiem DLC Cost?

The price of the story expansion hasn’t been announced. Based on previous DLC pricing, it’s likely to cost between 10 and 20 Euros.

Separate Ways for Resident Evil 4 was priced at 9.99 Euros, while the Winters’ Expansion for Resident Evil Village, which included Shadows of Rose, cost 19.99 Euros.
