Verna Burnett passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the age of 79.

A Life of Service and Family

Born to Verna (Dan Gilbraith) and Edward Burnett, she was predeceased by her husband, Beverley. Verna is remembered as a loving mother to Tom (Shirley) and Tammy.

For many years, Verna dedicated her professional life to education, working as a Secretary and Teachers Assistant with the Algoma District School Board. Beyond her career, she demonstrated a commitment to community service through her volunteer work with the Fibromyalgia Association.
