Southern California residents should prepare for continued stormy weather this week as another system moves into the region.

According to NBC Los Angeles meteorologist Belen De Leon, on-and-off showers are expected throughout Tuesday, increasing around sunset. The heaviest impacts are anticipated overnight and into Wednesday morning. A Flood Watch is in effect through late Tuesday for Ventura and Los Angeles counties, as well as the Malibu coast, due to the potential for flash flooding from heavy showers and thunderstorms.
Peak rain times are expected to be between 10 p.m. And 2 a.m. In Ventura County, 11 p.m. And 2 a.m. In Los Angeles County, 1 a.m. And 3 a.m. In Orange County, and 1 a.m. And 4 a.m. In the Inland Empire. The storm is forecast to bring between 0.25 and 1 inch of rain to coastal and valley areas, and up to 2 inches in the mountains.

The storm system is expected to clear by Friday, leading to partly cloudy conditions and warmer temperatures.

NBCLA Meteorologist Melissa Magee indicated the region should remain dry through the weekend warm-up.
